Service Learning and Community-Based Learning and Research

Would you like your students to integrate their learning with real-world activities?

Are you curious about how to involve your students in community research?

The CTL and the Center for Academic Engagement are co-hosting a workshop this Thursday, October 10, from 9:30-11:00am.  The workshop will take place in MT110.

Targeted for faculty and instructors that are interested in incorporating a service-learning and/or community-based engagement activity in their future courses, in this workshop we will: (a) review the fundamental concepts of service-learning and CBLR, principles of good practice, program models, and the University resources that are available to support service-learning and CBLR initiatives; (b) discuss how to leverage the student’s community experiences on behalf of their learning through reflection; and (c) spend time developing strategies to incorporate service-learning and CBLR into your courses.

Please register for these events by emailing us at (ctl@usd.edu) or calling us at 5411.

If you would like to attend via Collaborate, please use this link 15 minutes prior to the start of the workshop:
