Noted educator Lionel Bordeaux to speak to USD on Native Student Success - Oct 6

The President’s Office and the Center for Teaching and Learning are pleased to bring to campus noted educator Lionel Bordeaux, who has served as President of Sinte Gleska University since 1973.  He has been a tireless advocate for culturally based education and for the mission and importance of tribal colleges and universities.  During his tenure at Sinte Gleska he has served as president of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium and the National Indian Education Association (NIEA).  In 1992 he co-chaired the historic White House Conference on Indian Education.

President Bordeaux will be speaking on the topic of Native Student Success in Higher Education.  His keynote will be on Monday, October 6, from 3:00-4:00pm in the MUC Ballroom, followed directly by a reception hosted by President Abbott, also in the MUC Ballroom.
